Lupine Hill Stables is nestled in a quiet valley in the majestic mountains of Arroyo Grande, on the beautiful Central Coast of California. The name came about in springtime, when the surrounding hills were overwhelmed with wild flowers. The most dominant one was Lupine.
Lupine Hill Stables was started by a young couple by the names of Jeff and Sasha, with the hope of making their dream a reality. Jeff grew up racing professional Motocross and doing construction, while Sasha rode horses and competed. She then began training horses and teaching lessons. In combining their skills, they have brought Lupine Hill Stables to where it is today. They often refer to it as a small slice of heaven on earth and would love to share with you.
Our property has a top of the line 11 stall barn with 12x12 and 12x16 stalls, with in and out option. The barn is equipped with a hot and cold water wash stall, restroom, and kitchen/lounge.
The property also includes a large 400x100 riding arena with jumps, a custom one of a kind 74 foot round pen, and miles of scenic picturesque trails conveniently located on the property. The property is also located next to the Hi Mountain trailhead, a fairly well known beautiful trail.
Your board includes twice per day feeding and stall cleaning. We feed Alfalfa and Orchard grass hay. We offer daily turn out into pasture, grooming, lesions and training,
There is a Hunter-Jumper trainer on site daily. Trainers of other disciplines are welcome to come teach their boarding clients.
Being a residence as well as a boarding facility, the level of horse care and facility cleanliness will go above and beyond your expectations. We strive to meet the needs of our clients on a daily basis.

Pasture: $350/month
Box stall: $450/month
Box stall with pipe corral attached: $550/month
Day Rate: $20 per day
About the trainer
Training
Send your young horse to get started by Sasha at Lupine Hill Stables. Starting youngsters is her specialty, as well as horses who may be in need of an attitude adjustment. You will be so pleased with the finished product.
Rates include training, feeding, and board.

Sasha Johnson is the resident trainer and riding instructor at Lupine Hill Stables. She has been raised around horses and riding all her life. She has a history of competing on the "A" circuit in Equitation on the East and West coasts, winning the Maclay and PCHA Medals. After moving to Hawaii in 2001, Sasha acquired the skills of Western Riding and Natural Horsemanship, which she now uses to start young horses. Being a licensed Equine Body worker, Sasha is in tune with Equine anatomy and each horses needs as an individual.
"Horses are my passion and my life. I love what I do and I love sharing it with other people. I strive to make a difference in peoples relationships with their horses. It's my goal for every horse and rider to experience the bond and unity with each other and the harmonious relationship of horse and rider."
Lesson Program
The Lesson Program is great for all ages and all levels of riding. We have gentle horses to accommodate the beginner and child, and advanced horses to accommodate the more experienced rider.
Private: $35 per person
Group: $30 per person
Kids group (4 kids): $15 per child
Horse Camps
Horse Camps are offered during school breaks and summer.
Monday- Friday 10am -2pm. Horse Camp is fun and full of information. The week includes horse knowledge, horse care, safety, arena and trail riding, and arts and crafts. Your kids will love Horse Camp at Lupine Hill Stables.

Trail Rides
We offer daily trail rides through the gorgeous mountains of Arroyo Grande. The views are picturesque. We specialize in couples rides and our signature "sunset wine ride". We have advanced rides for the advanced rider, as well as beginner rides for the beginner rider.
Beginner Ride (1 hour): $50 per person
Advanced Ride (1 1/2 hours): $65 per person
Sunset Wine Ride (2 hours): $85 per person
Hosting Clinics,Events, and Birthdays
Lupine Hill Stables is the perfect location to host Clinics for big name trainers, Pony Club Rallies, or Schooling Shows.
Lupine Hill Stables also hosts Birthday parties for kids. We offer face painting and pony rides, along with our unique horse stable atmosphere. Catering optional.

Special Needs Program

Lupine Hill Stables is proud to offer a Special Needs Program on the first Sunday of every month. Our horses are available for horse therapy to those in need. All groups and associations are welcome to inquire.

Tooey is a 16.3 hand Thoroughbred gelding. He is sweet, personable, and very flashy. He is great under saddle and over fences. He is perfect for the beginner or advanced rider.
Vasco is a 15.2 hand 4 year old Azteca gelding with overo markings. He is very flashy and a great mover. He is naturally balanced and carries himself in a nice frame. He is sweet, personable, and willing. He has been started over fences, goes English and Western, and is great on the trail. He is registered with the Iberian Warmblood Registry International.

Dezi is a 16.0 hand Thoroughbred mare. She is sweet, responsive, and great with kids. She is suitable for the beginner though intermediate rider, and the perfect trail horse.
Negrita is a 15.3 hand Quarter Horse mare. She is sweet, loving, and is great on the trail. She is perfect for the casual rider who just wants to ride on the trail.
Lupe and Lucita $1,000 (Pair)
Alva $2,500
Alva is a 15 hand 2 year old Azteca filly with Overo markings. She is very flashy and has one eye with a hint of blue. She is a very cute mover with natural extension and suspension. She is a sweet, calm, and well mannered filly. She has been started undersaddle in English and Western.
Adorable pair of Donkeys, mother and daughter, medium size, Wormed and and feet trimmed monthly.

Barquena $300 per month
Barquena is a 16.3 hand 9 year old Andalusian mare imported from Spain. She is very willing and has a sweet disposition. She has tremendous Dressage potential and is a pleasure to ride in the arena and on the trail. She is registered with the IALHA.
Rowdy $300 per month
Rowdy is a 15.3 hand 10 year old Appendix Quarter Horse. He loves to jump, go on the trail and is great with kids. He is suitable for the beginner to the advanced rider.
Chris $300 per month
Chris is a 16 hand 20 year old Arabian gelding who is perfect for the intermediate rider. He loves to be ridden in the arena, getting attention, and is great with children.
